Our Story

Anchored by its championship Donald Ross golf course and clubhouse, our historic Blue Ridge Mountain country club is a beacon for active lifestyles in Asheville. Among the first hundred private clubs founded in America, Country Club of Asheville was established in 1894 as Swannanoa Country Club. After several changes in location and name, the club attracted famed course architect Donald Ross to design the 6,638 yard par 71 professional track in 1928.

Full country club amenities include an Olympic-size swimming pool, a fitness center, indoor and outdoor tennis facilities as well as children and teen recreation rooms. Our attentive service is apparent in the fine cuisine our revered culinary team presents daily, not to mention their expertise in orchestrating special events.
